Development and training
We will be here to support you in your role and career with learning and development opportunities as well as our professional coaching service.
Pension scheme
When you begin employment with Torbay Council, you will be contractually enrolled into a defined benefit workplace pension scheme that is relevant to the terms and conditions of your employment. Most roles are covered by the Local Government Pension Scheme but we also have access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and NHS Pension Scheme. All three pension schemes are Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) schemes which means your benefits are based on your salary for each year you are in the scheme. In addition, each year your pension is revalued in line with Pensions Act increases.
Salary
We offer competitive salary scales which have been developed so everyone is recognised and rewarded for the contribution they make with the majority of our roles (Green Book) evaluated using our job evaluation scheme which links to our pay and grading structure.
Our pay scales allow for progression within the grade which is based on either service, competency and nationally agreed cost of living pay awards that are applied annually.
